Grace Hodgson is a London-based photographer.
After graduating with a degree in photography in 2018, Hodgson moved to London to pursue a career in photography in the medium. Working tirelessly to cover all fashion seasons across a comprehensive span of five years in total, Hodgson shot fashion shows for 16Arlington, Matty Bovan, Julien MacDonald and Richard Quinn, as well as working backstage while undertaking commissions from a variety of fashion publications, namely British Vogue.
After half a decade spent consistently documenting different fashion shows, Hodgson pivoted to assisting some of the industry’s most talented fashion photographers including David Sims, Tim Walker, Charlotte Wales and Lea Colombo, before becoming a full time first assistant to Nick Knight CBE, whom Hodgson has been working under as first assistant for four years, playing an integral role in helping with different shoots around the world, while also specialising in lighting and 3D. Clients during this time included The Metropolitan Museum of Art, (specific work included the institution’s Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion exhibition), Lady Gaga, Kim Kardashian, Givenchy, Zara and Yeezy Gap. Editorials included AnOther Magazine, British Vogue, Vogue Singapore, Vogue Greece and V Magazine.
Hodgson’s personal portfolio looks to capture the female form, as proven by her intimate nude photographs of Michele Lamy taken for Circa Art In 2023. Hogdson’s artistic skill set sits in the nascent space between photography and film, while also utilising the latest technologies in place to help push fashion photography forward.
